Contemporary dance choreographer and dancer Liene Grava graduated from the Latvian Academy of Culture, Contemporary dance choreography department in 2011. Since 2010, Liene, in collaboration with some of the best producers in Latvia (Dž. Dž. Džilindžers, E. Seņkovs, Laura Groza – Ķibere and others), has created choreographies in state as well as non-governmental theaters and also in independent projects.
The choreographer has been nominated three times for “Spēlmaņu nakts” prize in “Movement artist of the year” category. Liene received the prize for theaters “Piafa” and “Sarkanais, sasodītais mēness” in 2014.
In cooperation with producer Laura Groza – Ķibere, she created theater-performance called “Ziloņcilvēks” in Liepaja theater, while in 2017 Liene worked as a choreographer and assistant producer at Liepaja theater for theater “Precības” (directed by Sergejs Zemļanskis). Now her choreographies can be seen in The new Riga theater in the framework of theaters “Pēdējā Ļeņina eglīte” (directed by Uldis Tīrons) and “Cerību ezers aizsalis” (directed by Vladislavs Nastavševs).
Her most recent theater-performace “Kvēldiegs” has been created in 2018, which is a unique joint project of vertical dance, music and video projections.
This year Liene, in collaboration with Basque trio KALAKAN, will accompany them on stage in concert hall Cesis to offer especially for this event created unique choreographies!
