Good news for music lovers!
 
Shortly before Christmas, World Music Festival "Porta" is presenting two exclusive concercts of well- known georgian ethno jazz band "The Shin" and Maia Baratashvili in their new programme "Georgia in your mind" in "Artelis- almost theatre" on 6th and 7 th of December at 8 Pm.
Georgian ethno jazz trio "The shin" gained admiration of latvian audience by giving unfergettable concerts during World Music Festival Porta. 
 
Trio "The Shin", Zaza Miminoshvili (guitar), Mamuka Gagnidze (drums) un Zurabs Gaganidze (bass),
 are recognized artists not only in their homeland Georgia, but in whole world as well. Their creative spirit and amazing musicality thrills the audience already in first minutes of their performance.

„Georgia in Your Mind „ featuring the SHIN and Maia Baratashvili is a project where one finds everything a tastefull lisetner may look for –brillliant music, crazy rythm, experimental attitude,   provocative  mind, penetrating vocal,  Georgian polyphony,  all brought together in a hudge cluster of positive energy coming from the stage. 
 
The project is a successful combination of world music elements and Amercian jazz intensivlely flavoured with Georgian sound. Developing very dynamically, the programme imaginery takes the listener to a pleasant jorney to Spain, India, USA and  Georgia, where one can experience  the passion of spanish Flameno, follow indian ragas, feel the groove of NY jazz and be  totally empraced by the mistery of Georgian polyphony.
Geogia in Your Mind is a guide to a wolrd music treasury and splash of the emotions that stays forever.

Maia Baratashvili - Vocalist/leading vocalist for Tbilisi Concert orchestra, Winner of the Montecarlo international Jazz Awards 2007 

"When Maia's diaphragm expands, the world shrinks"- commented once a music critique Amy Spurling. 
Indeed since her youth Maia Baratashvili has been captivating audiences with her powerful and emotive voice. Trained in a classical music education at Tbilisi's leading performing arts college, Maia moved into Jazz in 1995 as part of "David's Jazz Soul Club" opened in Tbilisi her home town. Since then she has gone on to perform as a leading vocalist with the Tbilisi Municipal Jazz Orchestra. She collaborated with the Georgian State Symphony Orchestra as well as  numerous jazz ensembles.
