The curators of world music festival Porta 2017 have published a Spotify playlist, which includes music of all the headliners set to perform this year in Riga.
Along them this playlist also includes music by Latvian artists who will accompany the guests from abroad. Listeners will have the chance to hear the collaborations on 3rd of November in Stricka villa venue, where the local sound wizard Uģis Vītiņš and the amazing folk mastermind Laura Šmideberga will create a new work of music with Maria Korepanova – the authentic performer of traditional Udmurtian music. On 4th of Nobember Latvian experimental music group Xylem Trio will add a contemporary touch to the traditional Uzbek sounds brought to Porta festival by Abbos Kosimov. And on 10th of November, when Porta will visit Stricka Villa venue once again, Oki Kano – Japanese string instrumentalist – will jam with the throat singers Shono from Buryatia.
