For several years, the association Pasaules Mūzika has been looking for opportunities to make world music genre more accessible, more understandable and more often heard among young musicians and students of various music genres in Latvia.
As one of the soundest and most effective forms of collaboration, in which not only theoretically but also practically new creative skills can be learned is participation in master classes led by artists of the World Music genre. Knowing how important it is to pass on this borderless culture to the next generation, we are happy and grateful for the opportunity to cooperate with Jāzeps Mediņš Rīga Music High School and host Georgian guitarist, improviser and pedagogue Zaza Miminošvilli!
Zaza Miminoshvili, who is an internationally acclaimed musician, a member of the ethno-jazz trio "The Shin", a multiple participant of the world music festival "Porta", has previously created creative musical collaborations with Valtas Pūcs, the vocal group "Cosmos" and the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra. He regularly performs in Europe, USA and other countries. Having created a world music academy in Germany, musicians have the opportunity to learn various world music influences and learn the main stylistic trends.
The lecture and master classes in English will are being held from November 7th and will conclude on November 11th with a concert by Zaza Miminošvili and Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School Jazz and Popular Music Department students and pedagogues at 4:00 p.m. in the school's Great Hall.
